When we went to Thailand, we were at a retreat with a lot of other families, and the kids had their own program. Â They were broken up into two groups, the babies, and the big kids. Â Obviously, EB is neither a baby or a big kid, and her age was right on the line between the two. Â I decided to put her with the big kids in the morning, and the babies in the afternoon, because the babies were taking a nap, and EB had been sick and needed that afternoon nap!
In the big kids meeting, they sang worship songs, played games, and did crafts – it was like a regular VBS. Â EB clearly was not as old as the other kids, and did not participate much in their activities. Â However, she came home singing her version of the song “Mighty to Save.” Â I am pretty sure she thinks this song is about God saving Dalmatian puppies, but I still love to hear her sweet little voice singing, and it was a great lesson for me – she seemed like she was too young to get anything out of that kids time – but she was absorbing a lot more than I realized!
