Dutch Baby

Category: Family Blog

pancake1_1Delicious.  A Dutch Baby is our newest discovery of an amazing breakfast, and I am here to share with you this easy, fun recipe.

2 eggs

1/4 cup of sugar

1/2 cup of milk

1/2 cup of flour

Mix all ingredients together.  heat over to 400%.  While oven is heating, melt 1/2 a stick of butter in a round cake pan in the oven.  When the butter is melted, pour mixture into pan on top of butter and return to oven.  Bake about 12 minutes.  Now remember, my oven is very different form yours, so play around with temps and times, but the result, is a very fun french toast/pancake type breakfast (or desert) that can be eaten plain or with syrup.  It looks really different than you would imagine, but just go with the flow and let me know if you try it.  We eat this 2-3 mornings a week.  (Actual dutch baby outcome may vary from the picture)

Hey Jeni! I made this for our “breakfast” dinner tonight and it turned out to be very yummy. Thanks for sharing it with us. I decided at the last minute to sprinkle some cinnamon sugar on top as it finished baking, which was definitely a nice addition. :) Hope you all are well. Thinking about you regularly!

hey hey! we ate this the other morning! i love trying new recipes, so i was excited to try this one. the entier time we ate it, i thought about the wrights. :) but it looked NOTHING like the picture. it was kind of gummy (think gelatinous) and heavy. i wondered if i mixed it together too much, removing the air bubbles. is it supposed to be light like a pancake?
