Thinking about cloth diapers…
So I am thinking about cloth diapers. Â Where we are going, there are disposables available, but I am thinking cloth still might be the way to go. Â I will definitely be making my own baby food (thanks Holly for the Super Baby Foods tip and Aunt Kathy for the food grinder). Â It seems a little out of my realm of reality to even be considering this, but here I am, wanting info about cloth diapers. Â Please don’t tell me anything about diaper services or what it was like 30 years ago using cloth diapers (mom) but I need real, current day information and advice on using cloth diapers. Â And what it would be like when you don’t have a washing machine. Â Feel free to tell me I am crazy to consider this and not to do it. Â If anyone in Louisville uses cloth diapers and wants to give me a live demonstration, let me know. Â

We did cloth when we were serving in Uganda. I loved them and am seriously considering starting back up with this 4th baby…now that I’m feeling settled.
So, the 2 kinds I used were diaperaps.com and fuzzibunz.com. I didn’t want any pins, and most of the newer systems don’t use pins anyway. Diaperaps are velcro and they just seemed so comfy. But fuzzibunz are THE BEST. Pricey, but SO WORTH IT. I used them at night and NEVER EVER had leaks. You insert at “regular” cloth diaper (the kind they used 30 yrs ago) into this fleece and waterproof pocket diaper that snaps. The diaperaps use the same regular diapers too.
Ok, I’d LOVE to go into more detail…if you want.
I’ll write you more details in email but real quick - I looked online and there’s a store on Bardstown Rd called Mama’s Hip that sells them and they can probably do live demos - here’s the link http://www.mamas-hip.com/.
